We are thrilled to continue in-person learning for second semester. These plans are subject to government and public health standards. In light of COVID-19, we implemented routines and processes to minimize, though we cannot eliminate, the risks to students and employees. Based on current research, our efforts have been focus on enhanced hygiene practices, health screening, physical distancing, and face coverings. As guidelines evolve, we will update our procedures and provide notification.
A Working Group of administrators, teachers, board members, and parents with specific expertise in the medical, legal and educational fields developed these plans. Our focus continues to be on the safety of our school community and following government regulations.
While we are excited to continue in-person learning, we recognize that circumstances may require us to shift to remote learning. Should students need to transition from in-person learning to remote learning, families will be notified through our FACTS SIS communication system.
For the 2020-2021 school year, we put into place a plan that combines asynchronous learning with synchronous engagements via Zoom and other methods to support both the learning and the social-emotional well-being of our students.
