Accreditation for Growth

We believe in the value of bringing in an outside eye to take a look at what we do and to ensure we meet the foundational standards required of the aforementioned organizations. This external review provides the necessary quality control measures of academic quality, review and institutional growth.

In May 2018, we hosted a visit by the accrediting team of four colleagues from peer institutions, North American Division and the Mid-America Union of Seventh-day Adventist leadership. They came to campus to examine what we do and to serve as “critical friends” in helping us see how we might continue to improve the work we do to serve our students.

This review yielded a full six (6) year accreditation with a (3) year interim visit status for Vista Ridge Academy with annual reviews and feedback to be provided by the review members.

As part of our accreditation year process, we examined our beliefs in relation to the school’s mission and set areas to measure ourselves in student performance (critical thinking skills, stewardship, community service, and leadership skills). As part of this self-examination, the accreditation for growth team examined the school’s mission, vision, strategic plan, internal/external systems and core values. To date, the Board of Directors has created a Marketing Committee, Finance Committee, Academic Standards Committee, and Mission Committee to address the imperatives in a systematic and comprehensive manner.
